Feast of the Cathedral of the Archangel Gabriel.
Celebrated by the Orthodox Church twice a year - the day after the Annunciation (April 8) and July 26.
The name Gabriel means "the Power of God" or "God's stronghold".
Archangel Gabriel enters the host of the highest Angels - immortal and disembodied spirits, servants of God, created by God before man. He is depicted with a paradise branch or with a luminous lantern in his right hand and a mirror in his left.

Archangel Gabriel was chosen by the Lord so that he would proclaim the Virgin Mary, and with her and all mankind, the great news of the Incarnation of the Son of God.
Therefore, the day after the Annunciation - April 8, having glorified the Most Pure Virgin, they thank the Lord and honor His messenger, the Archangel Gabriel.
But there is one more day of celebration of the Cathedral of the Archangel Gabriel - April 8 (July 26). The reason for this was the date of the consecration in the 17th century in Constantinople of the temple, erected in the name of this God's messenger and minister.
