February 13 is World Radio Day!
Why was February 13 chosen as this date? After all, the radio was invented in Russia and the date dedicated to it is
May 7 - his birthday.
And because on February 13, back in 1946, the call signs "UN Radio" sounded on the air, the station of which was located directly at the headquarters of the Organization.
At the same time, UNESCO called on residents of all countries of the planet to actively participate in events dedicated to World Radio Day.
But the holiday was officially celebrated only in 2012, after a special resolution of UNESCO.
