Last year, my colleagues and I received a very unusual and unforgettable gift "A trip to Murom to celebrate a holiday - the day of love, family and fidelity."

The idea of celebrating this holiday in Russia was born a long time ago. The city of Murom is located on the border of the Vladimir and Nizhny Novgorod regions. On the left bank of the Oka. This is one of the oldest cities in Russia. He survived terrible fires, the invasion of the Tatars, Troubles, while each time he rose from the ashes and ruins.

Finding yourself here, as if in a fairy tale, the plot of which takes us many centuries ago. The city is considered the birthplace of the famous epic hero Ilya Muromets. Thousands of pilgrims and tourists come to this city on July 8. The relics of the princes of Murom, Saints Peter and Fevronia, the main Orthodox patrons of marriage and family, are worshiped. In the Church of the Holy Trinity, the Holy Trinity Monastery, their relics lie. At one time, they were an ideal married couple and died on the same day - July 8, 1228. On this day, it was decided to celebrate the Day of Love, Family and Fidelity.

This holiday is celebrated in many cities of Russia, but it is especially celebrated in Murom. Chamomile became the symbol of the holiday. They are used to decorate all streets, houses, benches in the city. Girls, women adorned themselves with chamomile wreaths.

When we got off the bus, we found ourselves in a festive atmosphere. Music played all around, decorations, photo zones, a Fair of Craftsmen everywhere. A festive concert of Russian pop stars on the Oka embankment and, at the end, a festive fireworks display on the embankment.

You can read beautiful legends about saints, but it is best to visit this wonderful town. Despite the rainy and cold weather, we were in a great mood and received a lot of positive emotions. It was a very wonderful gift !!! And if next year you gather in Murom to celebrate the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity - do not forget to grab a bunch of Daisies !!!
