In Russia, Peter's day was the calendar border of the year. On this day, a series of summer holidays ends and the middle or top of summer comes.

In Ukraine, they have always carefully prepared for the Day of Peter and Paul. They did a general cleaning, whitewashed the huts, decorated them with flowers and greenery, new embroidered towels. They dressed up for the holiday, complemented them with wreaths with red poppies.

At dawn we went to the highest place on the outskirts, to watch the sun, '' on that day it played in a special way.

It was also a bright rite guessing game: the guys, whose faces were tied with scarves, went and guessed the girls. Whoever they found out - that soon the wedding will be lucky.

Also on this day they washed themselves with spring water for beauty and health, rode on a swing, danced, had fun.

On Peter's day, they definitely prepared fish dishes, believed that this is a guarantee of peace and happiness in the house.

They also cooked ,, young '' borscht from the new harvest and certainly with a young cockerel.

Baked ,, mandriks '' - cottage cheese, such rolls or donuts with cottage cheese and fruit.

Celebrated magnificently!

Peter and Pavel took an hour off. But the summer continues! All Peace, goodness and happiness! Happy Orthodox holiday of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul.
