History of the holiday.

This is one of the youngest Russian holidays. The tradition of honoring economists dates back to 1917. Then the People's Commissariat of Finance was created, which was later renamed the Ministry of Finance of the USSR. For many years in Soviet times, these specialists received congratulations on June 30. The custom has survived to this day. However, by his decree, Russian President D. Medvedev decided to set the official date for the celebrations on September 8. It has a symbolic meaning. On this day in 1802, Emperor Alexander I issued the Imperial Manifesto, establishing the Ministry of Finance.
