Feast of sacrifice. I would like to share with you the history of the origin of this holiday. Once upon a time, there was a man among the polytheists of Mesopotamia. He was distinguished from other people by such a particularly strong righteousness, faith in the one Creator, mercy and hospitality. He was the first among the polytheists to tell them about the One Creator. It was he who became the ancestor of many peoples, namely Jews and Arabs, as well as the father of faith in the One God. It was he who established a place for pilgrimage for people of faith. And his name was Abraham (which in translation is the father of many nations).
Living among the polytheists, seeing all the injustice and filth that they cultivated, Abraham turned to God. He prayed and asked for a talisman for his offspring. He asked for more justice in this world. And Allah bestowed on him such an honor, to be the father of the offspring of believers. However, such an honor had to be earned, or rather to prove that he really deserves it. Allah gave Abraham difficult tests. And one of those tests was to sacrifice your son. This test was to test his true selfless faith in Allah. Abraham and his son agreed to this test without the slightest opposition. And at the moment when Abraham raised the knife, Allah turned to him and said that he had proved his true intentions, and there was no need to kill his son. It was just a test. Instead of a son, Abraham was allowed to sacrifice a lamb. So Abraham proved his intentions and became the father of a huge offspring, which continues to worship one God to this day.
During the time of the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.s.), an animal was sacrificed on this day, a third was left for themselves , a third for a treat, and a third for alms. The practice of worship is the practice of treating everyone fairly. The meaning of this holiday is not so much in the sacrifice itself, but rather in making the world a little better, in order to reduce this level of injustice, to help and feed those who are now in difficulty with food. And the task of distributing meat is not so much to atone for sins, but rather to show a just attitude towards another for the pleasure of Allah.
