Then, special-purpose units were created - ChON, subordinate to the Cheka and intended to fight the Basmachis in Central Asia and the rebels on the territory of the Russian Republic. In the future, special units were at the disposal of: the NKVD, the MGB and the KGB.
Over time, the structure and composition of the army special forces changed more than once, but the essence of its mission remained unchanged.

Professional holiday of servicemen of special forces of the Russian Armed Forces.
The date is celebrated in Russia annually. In memory of the signing of a directive on the creation of special forces in 1950.
As an official holiday, established by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of May 31, 2006.
