I sincerely congratulate all those who are not indifferent on the great holiday of Kurban Bayram! May the Almighty never leave you, help you walk the right paths in life, point out the right decisions and give wisdom to your actions!

This year, one of the main holidays of all Muslims fell on August 11. The date of the celebration is calculated according to the lunar calendar and therefore is constantly shifting. Eid al-Adha is celebrated every year 70 days after the holiday of Eid al-Adha.
As the name suggests, Eid al-Adha is a holiday of sacrifice and its main meaning is to remind all Muslims of human devotion to God and the mercy of Allah.
The tradition of this holiday goes back to the story of the Prophet Ibrahim (in the Bible - Abraham), whom the Lord ordered to sacrifice his son Ismail. Despite suffering, Ibrahim did not dare to disobey his Lord and went to the valley of Mina - to the place where Mecca is today. Ismail wept and prayed incessantly, but did not oppose the will of his father and submitted to his fate. However, as soon as Ibrahim brought the dagger in, the blade stopped cutting. Seeing how devoted Ibrahim was to him, the Almighty rewarded the Prophet and allowed a ram to be sacrificed instead of a son.
Ibrahim successfully passed the test of faith, and in memory of his sacrifice, Muslims annually perform a sacrifice ceremony. It is believed that by offering a sacrifice on this day, a person atones for all sins before God. In general, the main message of Kurban Bayram can be formulated as follows: in order to get closer to God, it is not necessary to sacrifice life, the most important thing is to be virtuous, keep the commandments and help others.
